
Anvee Bhutani is an American journalist and reporter at The Wall Street Journal.
She reports from Washington D.C. and New York after beginning in the Journal's London bureau.
Before WSJ, Anvee contributed to The New York Times, reporting on the Trump administration's crackdown on higher education.
Anvee has reported across four continents, from the aftermath of the Moroccan earthquake to Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, the U.S.-Mexico border, and India’s Muslim communities. Her investigation into sexual misconduct by Oxford professors drew national attention and prompted policy reforms.
She is a graduate of Columbia Journalism School and the University of Oxford, where she served as editor in chief of the student newspaper. She speaks Hindi and Spanish fluently, with working knowledge of French and Arabic.
In her spare time, Anvee is working on her first book project having recently been awarded a Lynton Book Writing Fellowship. She regularly visits her family home in California.
